My helpful brother-in-law remo

My helpful brother-in-law removed my raw water pump..pulley driven and didn't mark the inlet/outlet tubes....any quick way to check or know?

"If it is assembled, in running condition, it will rotate easily in one direction, the Easy Direction.

The pump's inlet is the hole (port) where the edge of the pulley moves AWAY from that hole when rotated in the Easy Direction". The pump's outlet is the hole where the pulley edge moves TOWARD that hole when rotated in the Easy Direction.

if the pump will spin in either direction, with the same effort, it's time for an overhaul."

Dip it in a bucket of water and spin the pulley in its normal direction. You will soon see.
