broken motor mounts need advice

Hello all I've got my 86 even rude in a shop currently. The issues I'm having are no propulsion tho the prop will spin Just not enough for thrust. I originally thought I just stripped the prop as it was hung up on a boulcer at the little red and I didn't realize it wheN I went to take off. Turns out it wasn't the prop so I explained to the guy what had happened and right off the bat he noticed 2 broken motor mounts. I didn't really slam into themwhile running it was more the current ran me aground and I thought I was clear. Obviously the prop was the only thing still hung up. It's gonna cost around 300 for parts and labor to fix both mounts. he said it could cause all sorts of issues but didn't know yet if it would solve my thrust issues. I don't want to spend more on it than its worth but i lf it's a possibility the mounts could be the main cause of my issue I'd be willing to drop the cash. Also if it's possible it's a smaller issue after that n not much more and another 300 I would be somewhat ok with it. I guess my biggest question is just you guys' input on first whether the motor mounts have any chance of completely fixing it and if not do you guys think it may be worth looking more into or just selling for parts to put towards a new one? Thanks for any help and advice.

He said both mounts so Im assuming one for bottom one for top correct? He said they ran around $80 each last time he had to order some. I will try and get the model number from him tomorrow. I thought I mentioned this in the first post but it is a 15 hp if that helps any more. Sorry for the lack of info.

Yes those upper mounts , one on each side fail now and then.--Powerhead must be removed to replace them and at $ 300 you will be lucky to get it done for that.------Motor should stll drive with those mounts loose.------Have this all checked out carefully.

How did you come to the conclusion that the prop isn't the cause of no thrust? The overwhelming probability is that it is the cause, not the mounts. So, if the mounts are broken, you have two unrelated problems, propeller and mounts.

I replaced the prop w a brand new one months ago and tested it out with no change other than I got a nice shiny new prop lol...if I remember correctly he made it sound as if the motor mounts were the cause it would basically be because it's being knocked out of gear and basically I was just revving it in neutral even tho I thought it was in forward/reverse. Does that sound right to you guys? Sorry for the delay in responding been a hectic week...also kmy line of thinking atm is even if I spend a $1000 to repair it I'm basically assed out of a $1000 motor if it stays as is or I could buy another one similar for around a $1000 n not really know for sure how solid it is. As with this one I already know it's a solid motor and likely won't gimme any more issues that I don't cause myself. Any input is valued for sure and thanks for takin time to help me out with this so I can get back to the river!
