i need some help. i am replacing the impeller on my old merc thunderbolt 20. while removing the foot i had to persuade it off with a hammer and chisel. when doing so i broke a chunk out of the mid section. im not too familiar with the workings of an outboard but it doesnt look like any fluids go in there. im thinging about riviting a piece of aluminum in its place and sealing it up with marine tex. do ya'll think that would work or is there a better way ??
