Broken johnson 200 hp outboard

I have a 1991 Johnson VJ200sle

I have a 1991 Johnson VJ200sle on my bass boat. In a recent tournament the engine failed and I am afraid that I need a major overhaul if not a rebuild. Would anyone care to give me a ballpark figure on the potential cost of a rebuild? I imagine it would be less expensive to fix the motor than to purchase a new one. Any thoughts on used motors. Any suggestions as to trusted places to make such a purchase?
