Broken Distributor Cap screws

My AQ125A has been layed up for 2 years. I got the bug to reactivate it. I attempted to unscrew the distibutor cap and voila! snapped both hold down screws. Whats the best way to repair? Drill out the holes then use some kind of self-threadin screw? Also, the rotor has a number 1234 332. Any ideas what that is? Is there more than 1 disributor OEM? It came on a Renken boat,

Regarding the broken screws, you may be able to file the tops to make them flat, then punch them with a center punch, then drill them by securing the distributor on a drill press, then re-thread the holes. If you go that way, I wish you luck and patience, you'll need both.

Regarding conversion to electronic ignition, it will be money well spent."

Regarding the Elect. Ignition, any recommendations? I am somewhat of a novice in this area elec ign). I see some folks sell just the electronic ignition conversion kits (less than $50).

"If you manage to remove the broken screws, you can simply get longer machine screws and nuts and not concern yourself with tapping the distributor. I did this on mine and it works well."

Did the nuts clear the distrib

Did the nuts clear the distributer easily? Was it a pain to get to? Did you have to remove the distributor?
