Broken Cavitation Plate

Dolphin Fin put to much pressure where it was mounted and broke piece off. Can I still run without it and is it practical to have it welded back on.

Had the same thing happen for the same reason on my gen 1. I ran mine with a slightly smaller chunk out for a few years and found that I got cavitation putting/ burns on the prop.

I JB welded some aluminum plate on underside of plate , faired it in with jb weld worked ok for a hillbilly repair. Proper way is to have it welded.
