"What is the factory recommended break-in procedure for a 1999 175 hp Evinrude Ficht? I just put in a new powerhead. I've set the ECU into break-in mode but I need to know rpm restrictions and hours, etc."
 
"The standard break in for a t

"The standard break in for a two stroke would be 15 minutes or so just above idle to make sure everything stays together. After that, vary the speed, limiting to half throttle for the first hour, and three fourths throttle for the second hour with an occasional burst of full power for a minute or so. Avoid continuous full power for 10-15 hours. Make sure engine is using oil as you go through the break in. I usually pull the plugs after a couple hours of running to make sure nothing is overly lean or rich. I don't know of anything Ficht specific other than to make sure the injectors are flowing properly and the calibration constants have been entered in the ECU."

"If you have set the ECU to a new break in period, remember it only counts down (giving double oil), above a certain rpm (2000?).
Run the engine normally, avoid prolonged idling and tubing/water skiing."
