Break in 30 Mercruiser question

I have recently purchased a 20

I have recently purchased a 2009 Mercruiser 3.0 and I am in the process of doing the 20 hr. break in and right now I am about 4.5 hrs. I have used approximately 80 dollars of fuel[.86 cents ltr.] I know during break in you will burn extra oil and fuel but this seems a little extreme since I have only been running between 2000 and 4000 rpms and I only opened her up twice for 30 seconds each time. Is this normal for the 3.0? Thanks for any help you can shed on this situation.

That figures out to 93 litres

That figures out to 93 litres = 24.5 us gal.divided by 4.5hrs. = 5.44 GPH not too bad.I get about 4.5 to 5 GPH with my 1988 3.0 in a 21ft aluminum cuddy cabin boat.

It is probably a 30 footer that wieghs in at 8000 lbs and they stuffed a 4 banger in it to keep the cost of the boat low.............
