Bravo 3 clutch problems

Wondering if anyone else has had this happen. i was cruising the mississippi the other day and all of a sudden the boat just acted like it slipped out of gear and went back to neutral. i didn't hit anything it just won't do anything when i shift it into forward or reverse. the cables are all moving but the lower unit won't engage in either direction. I have a 2007 Rinker 246 Captiva with a mag 350 -300 hp with a bravo 3 outdrive. i have had the two covers of the top of the drive unit and the shift cable is fine and the shift yoke looks ok just not sure how the clutch works. i can shift it in either direction and the props should not move. but they act like it's still in neutral. any help would be much appreciated. thanks

No i have been using royal purple for the last 2 years with no problems. it says it meets or exceeds manufacturers specs. i drained some of it and it looked fine. none of the parts looked burned and the lower unit oil was not burnt.

may be a spun coupler.
WITH THE MOTOR OFF AND THE KEY IN YOUR POCKET, shift into fwd gear, try to stand on a prop blade and try to turn it while having someone watch the input shaft.
if shaft moves, coupler is spun.
