"Mauro, there is "anti-fou

"Mauro, there is "anti-fouling" paint (or bottom coat) on the market. This will help (to some extent) in keeping "marine cooties" (obviously not the technical term)
from sticking to your hull.

Too much build up will cause significant drag causing your motor to burn more gas and your boat to handle worse..."

"Graham,

would periodic wax

"Graham,

would periodic waxing and washing hull be enough to keep cooties( i prefer "shmutz") from building up? I was going to take it out periodically for routine, and not so routine maintenence.

thanks again,

mauro"

"Mauro, if you trailer the boa

"Mauro, if you trailer the boat so that you can get at the hull "often", in my opinion, that (while being more labour intensive in the long run) would be the preferred way to keep the hull clean.

The bottom coat paints have chemicals or pestisides or herbisides in them to help prevent marine growth (algae etc) and barnacles etc from being able to form hard shells on the hull.

Easier to keep clean a trailerable boat than say a 45 footer weighing 10,000 pounds - which would be a good candidate for a bottom coat...."
