I am going to start to install flywheel and coupler to my inline OMC six cylinder. Its been a year since I took all of this apart and and have concerns I may have forgotten some bolt issues. First, does the flywheel have lock washers on the bolts that secure it to the crank and does the coupler? I have a original OMC service book that has every possible aspect of information related to my engine, outdrive ect. I have all the torque specs and bolt types for all engine components listed in my service book. I was very lucky to get this original book. I have a good calibrated torque wrench, but is it reasonable to assume that you can torque a bolt with a lock washer and feel safe it will hold? Hate to see my flywheel launch out the back of the bellhousing or my coupler cut loose. Any suggestions? I will be asking for alot of info while undertaking my engine swapout. I read this website and know there is alot I can learn from alot of knowledgeable people and maybe help others learning from my mistakes.
