I have a 55hp 1968 Evinrude Triump #55873R, starts great idels fine good at low speeds. When I get to full throttle it goes back into low speeds, she sputters and wants to go, but can't. If I pull up chock bar she gets a fuel surge and will plane for about a 30 seconds. I have figured out I might have to take her apart, clean, and/or rebuild my carburetor(was sitting for 5 years). Unless anyone has any other things I can try first. (just a little girl going to have a hard time with taking it apart) My gass 50-1, spark gap (not sure) hired somone to tune up, I think I know more then he does (he's a dumd ass), not sure what he did. I put in a new fule pump today........no dice. Please help me!
MY QUESTIONS
Spark Gap?
If I need a complete carburetor kit,what one?
idel setting in fule (rich/lean)?
Any others settings I minght need to know?
Any way I can test if my carb is gunked up without ripping off the whole back platting?
Anything else you think I need to know?
