boat turns over will not crank

boat turns over will not start

have 5.0/305 couple weeks ago engine would turn over but not start..... replaced all distributor parts and coil.....ran fine for about 9 hours then when stopped did it again only this time cranked in about 30 minutes rode for 2 more hours did the same thing when stopped waited 30 minutes.....any suggestions

Maybe we can agree in what words to use ?

Crank to me means when you try to start the boat is cranks. Starter engage. . Motor turns .

Won't start = won't catch and run. Motor does not run.

Starts but won't stay running = starts but won't stay running.

What year engine? If TB ignition did you look at the optic sensor in the dist.? If it is all rusty it could be your problem.

you should explain your issues better and give details on engine/year..

with what I can figure with your posting is engine runs good, on restart it will not run . this may be the engine is flooded ...carb/injector leaking on shutdown..
