"I have 14foot grew 1986 boat

"I have 14foot grew 1986 boat with 50 hp evinrude 1987 I'm having trouble getting boat on plane. To start motor I remove hood on motor give it choke" manually" turns over and it starts right up.Good spark,good comp.,during trouble shooting when I remove ignition coils and reversed them the motor would not start,when I placed ignition coils back to org. spots motor starts. Looking for help!! I'm not a professional mech. Just a do- it- yourself guy"
 
Actual compression with a test

Actual compression with a tester is?? Will spark jump a gap of 7/16" on each cylinder?? Flywheel key is OK ?? Carburetors linkages are in place and both are opening fully??

That 50HP should push that boat 30+ MPH.
