80% of the time when you pull

80% of the time when you pull the boat out of idle and give it full throttle it stalls out it doesn't idle real great either. You can go in reverse all day long and it never stalls out. It's a 60 hp evinrude on a 25ft pontoon boat.

"this is USUALLY,not always,..

"this is USUALLY,not always,...caused by gummed up carburetors..but ,what needs to be done,..is the eng compression in the cyl's need to be ck'ed,as well as the spark,at each spark plug wire.if comp is good (100+) and spark is good,..then i would strongly suspect the carb problem...has it been sitting quite a while,...say,a year,w/out use?"

"It does not stall in reverse

"It does not stall in reverse because the load is reduced by exhaust in the water and this does not happen in forward.Check that compression and spark and those are OK , look for fuel / idle speed issues."

"Yes, it has ben sitting a yea

"Yes, it has ben sitting a year I just bought the boat and the people warned me it had a idle problem and that it also had ben sitting a year. Thanks for the info!"
