Boat Covers

Has anyone ever sprayed their older aging boat cover with Scotch Guard in the attempt to "waterproof" it? If so, did it work?

If the material is still tight and the stitching is intact, it works ok - just make sure you get the 'outdoor' version.

Former dock neighbors were also known to use tent sprays as well...you can usually get 6 months in direct sun and maybe a year if under cover...the sun is brutal...

I’ve used wood preservative on an old canvass boat cover. Worked good, got an extra season or two out of it. It stoped all the rot holes from getting worse.

Ayuh,..... Back when I had a sunbrella roof, I bought camp dry, 'n it worked very well,.....
Reading the can, it's just 100% silicone spray, so I switched to the same at my local Napa, which was 1/2 the price,....
