I have a 90 citation with a aq131, the boat was hardly used.... 4-5 years ago we threw a rod out of both sides of the block. I was able to locate an engine that was SUPPOSED to be ocmpatible, it is a aq 120b. Now that i research more, i see that the blocks are not in fact compatible. Would I be better off finding an automotive block and switching the components and heads over, or just check out and rebuild as needed the 120B? I basically have 2 complete set ups... The components of the 131D are in GREAT shape, as is the boat. I see that the 120B is higher rev and may be a good fit, and dont know how expensive the cam change and other automotive block issues will be... I want to end up wth something that is relaible, but dont want to spend more than it is worth. I dont want to rip the 120B apart if i would be better off selling it complete and re-toolong. Please advise. I am not doing to work, my friend that is a mechanic will do the technical work.
