I took my boat out last night

I took my boat out last night with the family and anchored for a couple of hours for a firework show. I started the engine while the drive was up but it doesnt stick out of the water. It was hard startind then made a loud noise when started and smoked bad so I shut it down. Restarted and ran fine. Then when underway after ten minutes of traveling 30mph I heard a loud screaching noise and was unbearable coming from the eng. compartment. I shut the engine down and still blaring away. I noticed the blower was still on and shut it off and went away. Started the engine on land today with the blowers running and was fine but made the noise for a second and went away. Is this the sign that I may need a new blower motor?

"If in doubt, change it. I agree with Tom, sounds like a bearing in the motor is shot. They are not an expensive item.

Yeah I kind of figured best be

Yeah I kind of figured best bet to do that. I ran the boat today for about 4 hours on the river and I always checked to make sure that it was pushing air and it was and never squelled since this morning but I will order a new one anyway and change it out. Thanks a lot again everyone for the imput.
 
"Seeing as how you must remove

"Seeing as how you must remove the old blower, do that and either get the manufacture and model number off it or just take the whole thing into a marine supply shop and tell them you want one like it. I don't know where you live but they are readily available, at least around here."
