Blocking off prop exhaust

Hi. I'd like to do some performance mods to my Johnson 115 hp. One of the mods is installing a cleaver prop. Can I block off the thru prop exhasut and re-route it out the exhaust relief holes, of do I need a special gearcase?

thanks for any input

Don't think the the exhaust ports will be large enough to handle all the exhaust gases, and what are going to do about the water volume in the exhaust?

Why a Cleaver? If running a cat, perhaps ok, but otherwise no.
To get the full effect, you need to modify your gearcase and get a nose-cone water pick-up as engine needs to be raised quite a lot!
Second to block the exhaust from entering down the gearcase exhaust channel and finally cut open lower part of leg to get rid of the exhaust.
With all that done, you will end up with the most noisy engine in your area, but not necessarily the fastest!!

You want Cleaver, this is what to do:

Don't need to block off the exhaust I found out...and as for the 115 being the best of the V-4's, what about the 140 hp? And sorry, I meant to say chopper, not cleaver prop. Not running the motor high enough to run a cleaver, or to need a low water pickup. I've pretty much sorted it out, got a couple of holes drilled in the gearcase for exhaust relief, and a bit more noise than a stock OMC.
