Bigger water cooling hose

Hi I was wondering if there is any issues with upsizing the water cooling hose that dispells the water on a 1992 evinrude 25hp. I have a 1/8 on it now and want to to a 1/4 to maybe have it not clog so much when im running rivers. Just wondering if any problems would arise from that

Excellent question, my thoughts were always that the size of the discharge hose was part of managing water flow through the block in conjuction with the thermostat. I would not change it. My $.02

Correct. Some models did use 1/4" hose for the telltale. However, on some engines a lack of restriction in the telltale can scavenge cooling water from the engine and cause issues. Keep the same size hose your engine was designed to use.
