"Here is an option for you...a little background...I have received several calls about this very problem. I think I may have an answer, but the customers were all out of town, so we could not do physical comparisons.
I think the fuel pump used for the BF8A will work on your motor. I have a customer's 8A at work and we have a BF75 (The first year it came out...which we have for display purposes). I pulled the fuel pumps off of both and compared the two. The overall physical sizes are a little different and the orientation of the fuel nipples are different. However, the pistons are exactly the same size, compress the same amount and the 8A pump bolts right up to the BF75. The drawings say it is also used on Bf100A thru F, BF75A thru F, and all BF8A's. Tney both use exactly the same mounting screws and o ring. I did not try to run our display cause I had other paying customer's waiting for their jobs. There is no guarantee, but if you can find a used one or at least find a dealer that has one to compare to your pump, it would be worth the effort. The part number is 16700-935-024 and retails for about $80.00. A used one should not be more than $40.
I think your pump has a metal protector to cover it. The other motors do not, so you may not be able to reuse it. The only other issue that I can think of that may present itself is the fuel pressure may be higher than the old pump and since the carbs are a different design on the BF75 than the others, there may be an issue. If it were my motor, I would give it a try.
My thought is that Honda may not officially list this as a direct replacement because of the orientation of nipples or inability to use the protective cover. I have found that one of the sensors also are "not available" on these older BF75's and BF100's. They are the same "sensors" as on the current BF8A. It is not considered a direct replacement because the it does not have the same length leads and has a different connector. The official parts lists say no, but I have checked their physical size and outputs and they work! You just have to put different connectors on the ends of the leads. Hopefully, the fuel pump has the same outcome.
I would be interested in any results of your quest..."
