BF50A no spark!

Hello, new to outboards and just picked up a pontoon with BF50A on it and doesn’t seem to be getting spark, curious as to where I should begin testing and looking for to get it diagnosed, thank you

Is the emergency tether in place? That's the #1 biggest "no spark" problem I've found. That and the ignition switch.

Previous owner said it never had one I’m assuming it’s bypassed he used it for years that way
