BF50 Engine Compression

I have an old hoda BF50 5 hp outboard. I can only get about 60 pounds compression. Can anyone tell me what the compression should be.

Have you checked valve clearance ???

64 plus/minus 14psi with throttle wide open.

Thanks Mike for the quick response. I have pulled the motor and taken the head off. The valves appear fine and there is no ridge in the cylinder. There is still some cross hatch in the cylinder. I would never have thought the compression would be so low. Oh well you learn something new every day. Have you got any ideas were its best to purchase the required gaskets and I'll bolt this unit back up.
