I ordered a new lower unit and put it on. The only diff. from the old one was that the shiftter rubber boot(seal) didn't come with it and no way I see to fasten it around linkage so I have it on but loose. I ran motor on lake trip and oil was seeping pretty good between oil pan housing and extension case. I changed oil & filter. Now, new oil seeping after idling(fast) in barrel. Could I have messed up o-ring or something when I stabbed shaft during lower unit replacement? Please help.
