How do you turn it 90 degrees to remove?

Do not know anything about turning it 90 deg.

There should be two pry slots for two standard screwdrivers, where the outer ring meets the case. Use the two screwdrivers at the same time. A couple of slight twists should pop that puppy right out.

If you run in salt water, all bets are off.
