Hello everybody, reviving a 25 hp Honda for a good friend, barter system for fishing trips. Trying to figure out the year to make sure to get the correct parts. The only numbers I can locate are BAJL1002254. Gonna be doing impellor,oil and filter change,lu and drain plug gaskets, fuel filter and water separator and possible valve adjustment. On a other topic, Hondadude recommended not running full synthetic oil in an older bf100, 10 hp any reason why? curiosity is getting to me since I own one of these engines. Thanks for the help.

That series number ran from 1993 thru 1997.

As for the synthetic oil....basically, the motor is not designed to use a synthetic oil. Check the Frequently Asked Questions on the Honda web site. http://marine.honda.com/faq

Had a chance to pull the serial number at Honda. It was originally purchased 3/6/95.
