BF225 Alarm Issue

I have a BF225 that has an alarm that keeps going off at idle. If accelerated at all it will not go off. Also when I turn the battery switch on something clicks a couple times very rapidly and sounds to me like it is the coils but I can not be 100% sure of that. With the motor idling it takes about 2 or 3 minutes and the alarm is going off. Even when you cut the key off the alarm is still sounding. I have tried a new key switch and main harness. Also have changed the engine harness and main relay. Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

What warning lights come on when the alarm sounds? You should have four lights...oil, overheat, charge, check engine. Only the oil light should come on when the engine is running.

Do you have any devices wired into your ignition (other than gauges) that are activated when you turn the key switch on? If so, disconnect them...they should not be wired into the motor wiring harness.

Anything else tapped into the motor wiring harness for power?

How good is your battery? Fully charged? ....and good? Clean and tight connections?

Since you hear things when you turn the battery switch on, it makes me think that power is always on to the motor when the battery switch is on. Taps into the motor wiring or corrosion at the 14 pin connector (round connector) at the engine.

Just some thoughts....

If I remember correctly there is just one green light on and nothing else. I am not sure about addition devices connected I will double check. Batteries are both good and cleaned all contact points to make sure no corrosion. I will double check all of these things tomorrow, Thanks a lot

Get a Honda mech to run Dr Honda over it. Strange as it may sound, the alarm etc symptoms sound like a friends 225 problem that turned out to be the O2 sensor. Common issue on that engine and there is a ECM update coupled with a new sensor that has less holes in the tip to help keep out the water that seems to cause the problems in them.
