BF15A gearbox / bearing carrier - do other models interchange?

Have a Honda BF15a long shaft (BAAL) that needs a replacement gearbox carrier. Model discontinued so just waiting on one to appear eBay.

Longshot but does anyone know any other models which might have same lower section. Ie increase my potential options?

of course if you have one going spare that would also help!
 
For interchangeability, look up the part number for your 15, then maybe check a 10 and see if it uses the same one? Do the same for other year motors, and a range of HP's.
 
Thanks Alan - I wanted to know if part numbers are unique to each model. Sounds from what you are saying that numbers work across models which is a big help!
 
Thank God Honda doesn't play that game.....

For an example of just how much they share their interchangeability, the 35, 40, 45, and 50hp engines are pretty much completely interchangeable from 2007 back. Blocks, rods, pistons, lower units, intakes, etc. are all the same.....

It would be no surprise here if you found a couple different engines that were compatible with your 15.
