Hi Just wondering if anyone he
Hi Just wondering if anyone here could answer a simple question for me as I read somewhere on a forum the Suzuki 140hp generates only 124hp where the Honda 150hp generates near 160hp. Is this waffle?
I can see the specs for Suzuki are 138hp at 6000rpm and the Honda are 150hp at 5500rpm. The Honda can reach 6000rpm and hence some more hp is achieveable.
I wonder is one motor measured power at engine and not at propeller and hence there is some loss of power.
My interest is I want a 6.6 plate allow boat and see either of these motors an option but can see some benefit if the motor is rated more towards a 160hp than 124hp if this is in fact.
I know the 200 hp is a good option for said boat but fuel consumption is way high for this option too.
Any useful feedback appreciated. I will be going to a boat show next month and will quiz retailers but hope to get some good info here first.
Cheers
