BF130 Fuel line size

Hello,

I am replacing the primer ball and fuel line on my '03 BF130 and the 5/16" lines fits a little loosely on the nipple of the engine connector. Is 5/16" the correct size?

Thanks

You have a very good question.....

Check out the hoses on either side of the fuel bulb....

Part # 15 (that goes to the engine connector) is 6.3 mm. That is .248 inches. So, it if you use 5/16", it may be a little loose.

Now look at part #14. It is the hose that goes to the tank. It is 7.5 mm. That is .295 inches. That is closer to 5/16 but still a little smaller.

That being said, the Honda bulb has two different size nipples.

If you are going to get an aftermarket hose and bulb, the hoses on either side of the bulb will be the same diameter.

Bottom line....at least my opinion....either get an official Honda hose assembly or buy an Evinrude/Johnson 5/16 bulb and good 5/16 fuel line (not the cheap stuff) and it will seal good if you use a good Oetiker clamp on the connectors.
