Hello all together,
i have a question regarding the control of my new HONDA BF 115 DBW.
I ordererd the "flush mount remote control" because the boat now has a similar ( but cable ) control unit in the center console of the boat .
Now i have the DBW control unit, that would fit in the given position, but then i would operate the engine reversed. To drive forward i need to pull the control handle towards me. To drive backward, i have to push the handle away from me.
For the cable control engines there are two versions available ( right / left ), for the DBW there is just the right hand opeartion ( when mounted on the starbord side ) available.
Does somebody have the same issue? Maybe there is a electronic adapter to reverse the function, and also the different operating angles ( forward has a wider swing then backward )?
Thanks for your support.
Best regards Joerg

Saw this once before on a boat with twins, at a launch in spring, a friend of mine who was not an outboard owner previously, said he had something wrong. When he reversed to come of the trailer , his boat went forward, put shifter in forward, it reversed. I had a look at it, his counterrotating propeller was on the wrong outboard and vice versa.

Hi NSDON, thanks for your reply, thats a good idea. Thank you. I have to check with Honda, if it is possible to use a reverse prop for this case, without damaging the gear box etc. . The second issue, maybe not too big, is the swing of the handle, it is smaller in backward mode, and maybe will not reach the "full throttle" position!? .....but i will check this out with Honda.
Best regards Joerg
