"I could really use some help here. I just bought this motor from a friend who told me he had it running last fall and it has sat since. Now, I am assuming normal start procedure is to full choke in start position and warm engine, push in choke move to shift position, shift engine and boat away. Heres what does happen. Full choke in start position, starts and runs fine, push choke in and engine revs to the moon and I have to either pull the choke back out about half way or kill the engine to get it to stop (it dies if I pull the choke all the way back out). Now if I choke it carefully at about half (a reasonable RPM) then move to shift position it stays running well for about 10 seconds then dies. The other day on the lake I had the same issue and I could motor if I quickly moved to shift position, shifted the motor and throttled up, it ran at what seemed to be normal and as soon as I throttle down it dies...Any ideas at all. I have tried messing with the linkage adjustments and the mixture and neither seems to make any progress, good or bad. HELP>"

I already pulled the carb completely apart and cleaned out all passages both ways. Replaced the float valve and beside pulling apart the main butterfly valve I don't see anything else to rebuild??? Has anyone ever rebuilt one of these little carbs..what part of the rebuild do you think is causing my symtoms???? Any idea where to get a rebuild kit?? Thanks for any help.

How??? Normally there is a screw head to pull out a retainer or the jet itself..this one seems to be quite fixed..are there more than one?? I did clean the jet thoroughly and could see daylight through it??? The little seat under the main jet does have a slotted head and its pretty chewed up from someone working on it....dont know what else. Does that jet push out somehow???
