Bf 50

Got a bf 50/just serviced,1 year old,done 60 hours,oniy reving to 3 thou/no the plug in comp,says its the HO2 sensor,done the unplug and resart trick,ok in a tub of water going to 6thou revs but going out to sea in good weather only revin to 3.5 thou,they say the sensor is us,but what if the sensor is doing it job!!!!,any boay got any ideas

Have you checked your prop for spun hub ?

Hi dark -star,yes a new prop was fitted before we put the computer was rigged up

Fuel tanks vented ? pressure in the ball ?
check for spark in all 3 cylinders,
a few things to check.

vents open,solid pump,all plugs ok,missing when the plug cap is pulled off,they say its the H02 sencor but i dont know if this is a common fault

Hi Andy,
It could be anything, but one thing for sure, put the motor onto the Honda "DRH" computer. It will tell you if there is a fault with the motor, replace the faulty part and your problems will be over. The newer motors have so many sensors and controllers, it is impossible to confirm a fault without some equipment. I have not seen a fault with the o2 sensor on a 50 Honda yet, but that doesnt mean you dont have one. Once you have repaired it let us all know what the problem was.
