Currently I have a Honda BF 50 outboard, and am assembling the lower unit after replacing all the seals.
I installed the propshaft assembly last night and when the nut is tightened it has 2mm axial (in and out) shaft play.
Is this normal? In the honda manual I have they don't measure clearances in this way. Unfortunately I didn't check the axial shaft play before disassembly.
The internals of the lower unit look perfect - dog gear is like new and bearings perfect.
