bf 35 oil pan removal

beeconstructive

Hi, after my boat sank I stripped down the outboard (honda bf 35) immediatly to rince and flush with wd.

All was well untill, I removed or started to remove the crank case only to find I could not remove the crank case without removing the lower cowling.

I purchased a shop manual only to find I need to remove the oilpan in order to take the power head of the lower cowling!

I have now removed all of the screws I can find but it really does'nt want to separate. Is it glued to the gasket or are there hidden fixings I havn't found?
The manual just said remove the bolts, any ideas would be greafully recieved....

You must an aftermarket shop manual. There are 10 bolts that hold the powerhead on four 8 x 75 mm flange bolts, four 8 x 55 mm hex bolts, and two 8 x 35 mm hex bolts. Once those are off, if you rock the power head back and four a little, it should break loose.
