BF 225 thrust bearing specifications

Does anyone know the allowable thrust bearing end play on the BF 225?

I had my engine in the shop over the winter and ask them to measure end play. They reported 0.012 inches which they said was within specifications. However, they failed to let me know what the allowable play is.

Does your manual talk about "design" limits? If it does, typical allowable is 2X design before you get in trouble.

Update......

Honda confirmed a max 0.018. So I called the closest dealer/service center to get info on how to measure. I was told to use a dial indicator. But after hearing the motors were 04's he said I'd probably be wasting my time. In 16 years he had only seen this issue on '09-'10 models.

You can measure with a dial indicator or feeler gauges.
