BF 150 pee hole/ pressure guage

I need some help to figure out how to have my water pressure guage work on a re-power from 130's to 150's. The 130's had a nipple to attach the water tube going to the water pressure guage on the dash. The new 150's do not have this port, and there is no application in the "rigging book or parts book" to do this. I am useing the old wireing harness, and therefore the old guage set. A new guage set w/harness is wired to show the water pressure thru an electrical sensor with all the other engine indicators "all in one" (speed, tac, rmp, fuel management, various warning lights, ect). So to use my old guage, I am thinking of useing the pressure from the pee hole tube. Either "T" ing into it, or just connecting the pee hole tube to the pressure guage tube. I'd like to see the pee hole stream and have pressure to the dash guage and know if I "T" into the pee pressure, I will loose pressure at both locations. So the visual and indicated pressures will be less than there actually is. Is there an other place I can "T" into the system to give me accurate pressure to my guage, and still have the pee hole stream as a visual?

Thanks for your input and help.

Check page 392 of the 2011 Rigging Guide. It shows two different places to connect the water pressure guage (depending on the motor's serial number).

You have to remove a plug with a 5 mm hex wrench and you put in a brass hose fitting.

Mike,

My Honda dealer says his rigging guide only goes into the 70's pages. What book are you useing, or could you give me the part numbers and the correct location to unstall? The 150's are BANJ-1305268 and BAPJ-1300732. Thanks for your help.

I am looking at the rigging manual that is on a disc...so page numbering may not be the same as the paper book. The location on your motors will be on the starboard side of the engines and at the lower part of the block just to the left and below the oil filter.

The instructions and specific locations are at the end of each of the gauge sections. I know there is one at the end of the Faria and Teleflex gauge sections.

I am off today, but will check the book tomorrow for specific pages if needed.

Thanks again, If you have time, I could use the part number of the fitting. I'll find the location based on your info. I'll advise the Honda shop that the rigging manual your using is on a disk at the end of the guage section. I guess they should have the same disk??

Can I add water a pressure gauge to a 40 hp, SN BAYU200000028. My engine is in an engine cover and I can't see the teltale while underway.

hdean,

Page numbers in the 2011 Rigging Guide are 11-21, 11-34, and 11-45. They all have the same info, just are in different sections of the gauge area.
