hi, im looking for some advice regarding my flush plug hole, after a days fishing i returned and flushed the engine through useing the flush port.. then
lowered the engine in a large bin of water and started the engine. engine was running great then i notised a small amount of water seeping from the flush port, this continued and still it seems to keep seeping out, is this normal?

It sounds like you just need to get a new teflon or fibre washer to seal the screw face and the leg. If it's only leaking a little bit I wouldn't worry too much, but most hardware stores should be able to help you for a few coins.

The hose on the back of your flush port goes up to the upper part of the port side of the motor and connects to part #6.

Parts 8,9 , and 10 all work together to form a one way valve. 8 is the spring that holds part #9 against grommet #10 and keeps the normal cooling water from coming out the flush port....which, in your case, is not working very well.

Could be a weak spring....but most likely the grommet and/or plastic plunger (9 and 10) have salt or some sort of build up....allowing water to flow out.

You could get lucky by just taking it apart and cleaning it or you may have to replace them.

You should probably also get two o rings #19 to prevent leaking around the housing when you put it back together.

The flush port valve is not shutting off properly.
Could be caused by some debris on the valve seat #10, or corrosion causing the valve seat to deform/collapse.
Try flushing it again through the flush port to see if it will clear, then recheck.
If it is still leaking, remove the flush valve cover #6, and spacer #7, and inspect #8, #9, and #10 to find the cause of the problem.
When refitting you may need to renew the 2 o-rings #19 .
