"I realize that it will very from boat to boat, but what is your best RPM range for economy. I have a 30 foot gibson, single screw with a 318...Travel lift scales indicate that it weighs near 8,000lbs........Also what is the max RPM a 318 should turn for a long period of time????

"max rpm should be 4000, best cruise is at 75% of wide open throttle, so around 3000 rpm, I have twin 318's in my trojan 30, it purr's around 2800, giving me a cruise speed of 25 to 26 mph, with just a little tab to lift her ass a touch, thats also about the best fuel economy as well."
