"What is the Best glue/adhesive to use between the Transom Shield & Hull. I am not taking it apart but just wanted to re-do the small bead around the transom shield to prevent leaks?

I was thinking 3M 4000 Adhesive?

Suggestions?

"Just note that the 'sealing' You see, is not the real seal. That is the rubber string embedded in the transom assy. The 'outside' silicone/Sicaflex You see is mainly cosmetic."

"In the case of a perfectly flat transom, yes, the bead is cosmetic and the seal inside the transom shield groove does the sealing. But is some cases where the transom has some imperfections, Sicaflex can and will do the trick. My own current boat is a good example of this."
