Bent prop shaft

I need to know if a prop shaft on a 90 hp 1999 yamaha, if bent is itok to have it straitened
or replace with a new or used one. Also looking for a manuel.

Are you going to do the work yourself ? Labor is the killer with the cost of replacing the shaft. The new shaft itself is about $250 at boats.net http://www.boats.net/parts/search/Yamaha/Outboard/1999/C90TLRX/LOWER CASING DRIVE 1/parts.html . The 50-90's used the same lower unit so you might run across a used lower unit in good shape to use instead.
As for the service manual you can just Google that and there's dozens of sites to download it from for about $10-$12 .

You normally use a 'dial indicator gauge' or similar to measure 'run-out' on the shaft. A needle or similar mounted on something firm and centered on the middle of the shaft end as you spin it will show you visually if there is a significant bend if you have a sharp eye, but may not be accurate enough if the bend is minor.
