Has anyone had experience as to what is acceptable for this monster? Started at .035 wobble at tip, (stern end of threads).....it was really bent. I pressed to .008 or .0075, best I could do with my little press. At aft end of prop spines I got .0035 wobble. So therefore from centerline it would be
1/2 the above numbers. What do you think? Any ideas? Put it back together and try it? Shafts are very expensive, even used. I really don't have a lot of experience on the bigger motors when it comes to getting away with....acceptable tolerances. If I don't get a reasonable answer in 24 hours, I'm gonna put it back together.

Yeah, okay....thanks. Its very hard to see the wobble now without using the dial indicator. There is .005 to .006" up and down/side to side play in shaft when measuring at forward end of prop splines. Probably need to replace bearing? Guy got motor at auction, no info on it. Could have been run awhile with bent shaft, but he didn't get a prop with the motor so I can't be sure......I don't see any cracks in bearing housing. Its not a big job for me to replace the bearing. What do you think? I got a 2004 90 hp Merc 4 stroke here, suppose I can check the play on that shaft.
