Just bought a 2000 352 Silverton w/251 hours on twin 7.4 MPI Crusaders in Alameda, Ca. The maintenance company has suggested replacement of all original belts due to age. The belts look fine to me, but admit am a novice regarding boat engine work. Does this make sense?

Well, if the belts are 12+ years old, it wouldn't hurt. It's much easier to change them out in the slip with all the time you need, than somewhere less secure, like a busy waterway with no replacements on hand. Change them, and keep the old ones as a set of usable spares.

Thanks! They also suggested replacing impeller and spark plugs. Does that also sound about right? Don't think they were ever changed either?

+1 Bob. I usually advise new owners to replace all the regular maintenance harware plus all fluid changes after a purchase. Unless the previous owner kept meticulous maintenance records, it`s difficult to know when these items were last serviced, and I would not simply take their word for it. Doing it now allows for a fresh start with what you know is new hardware and a means to set up a maintenance plan going forward. And it`ll help you sleep at night!!
