Bellows Adhesive (?)

Hi,

I haven't done this before but I want to replace the bellows on my alpha one - gen 2 gimball.

I have the parts but I am reading that some use a bellows adhesive but others don't.

Is this something I should use? Is RTV adequate?

Best to use the Quicksilver ( Merc parts brand) bellows adhesive (Mercury Bellows Adhesive 92-86166Q1) if recommended for a particular bellows. Most marine supply stores carry it. Don't use RTV. I've seen bad reports on the Sierra version of this adhesive.

The bellows adhesive is rubber cement.

Same stuff used to patch a rubber inner tube.

I ordered a tube of the Quicksilver adhesive. Its not expensive and I have a few days for the delivery time.

Ayuh,.... That's what I use,... comes in yellow, 'n for 'bout twice the money, black,...

Available 'bout anywhere any auto parts are sold,... probably even Wally World,...
