Beep Beep like the road runner alarm... 2008 Alpha Merc

Hi,
Help please from you mercruiser guru's. Got a GM 5.0 V8 with the alpha drive 2008 year.

Getting a alarm with no apparent reason. Its the occasional beep pause, beep.

Appreciate any clues on how to clear it.

Check the oil level in the OD reservior. If the oil level is correct disconnect the switch and see if the alarm stops. If it stops replace the switch.

The OD gear oil is good...

How could or would the switch be disconnected? Are you referring to the alarm switch. Please clarify.

Test the disconnected switch w/an ohmmeter before buying another one. It is defective if the tank has sufficient oil and the switch shows continuity. If the tank is empty or below normal the switch will have continuity.
 
The drive reservoir alarm is a constant tone.

I have to assume you have a 5.0 ltr Multi port fuel injected engine. If yes, the beep beep alarm can be caused by a number of things. Most common is IAC failure or the IAC muffler being clogged 100%
 
Two beeps every minute, (possible cause) Sensors Open‑short in circuits, Connect CDS to determine and diagnose the problem Possible 90% available power (dependent on sensor). See dealer for diagnostics.

Very vague.

As I said above, 90% of the two beep alarm is caused by the IAC.
