"I have just purchased a 21'Repco with a BB140A and am doing basic maintenance to the engine. Is this engine based on a automotive engine that can be referenced so that my local automotive supply can find belts,filters,points, etc?
Are the distributor cap and plug wires the same as the automotive version or should they be marine.
This is my first inboard so I'm clawing my way up the learning curve.....

"The BB140A is a B21 block automotive equivalent. However, the distributor is not the same as automotive, though the cap wires are. And neither is the water circulating pump, or the exhaust and intake manifolds, carburetors, starter, alternator, camshaft, and head cover (I think that's most of it)."
