Hello everyone I would like to add charger to my boat currently I have a Interstate wet-cell 27 series as a STARTING BATTERY and a interstate 31 series deep cycle/ starting/ as a HOUSE BATTERY my engine is a 150HP Honda and I have a battery system that has a system similar to a BEP as we know charges all BATTERY'S without changing the a-b switch what I'm looking for is the best CHARGER without BREAKING THE BANK any and all help is much appreciated THANK YOU FOR ALL INFO!!!!!!!!! Greg:cool: ALL HELP IS IMPORTANT

Lots of different ones out there...i use this brand at home on the boat but it is a 50 buck one that i dont think is on the market anymore...what you definitely want is one that quit charging completely when a battery is fully charged..

Hello Thanks for an answer( papyson!!) I keep my boat in a marina rack store but have access to power so I was thinking permanent mount so I could just plug in when sometimes I don't get to use the boat for a week or so any other THOUGHT'S ThankYou Greg

If you are just trying to keep your batteries topped off, something simple like this one http://mk.factoryoutletstore.com/details/36625/minn-kota-210d.html?category_id=20873 made by Minnkota should work fine your application. It is a two bank charger and charges 5 amp per battery. If you want a quicker charge then you have to get one that has 15, 20 amps etc per bank. It will cut down to a maintenance charge when each battery is fully charged.

You can mount it somewhere near your batteries and it has connections for each battery. Everything is already isolated and will work with your battery switches. Just be sure not to turn your battery switch to "all or both" while charging.

It has an AC plug, but you can get as fancy as you want to even installing a 110v shorepower plug http://mk.factoryoutletstore.com/details/43911/1865108.html?category_id=20884 and then you can connect your extension to the plug on the side of the boat. This one does not require any special wiring. You just plug the charger into the end of the cable. You just have to drill a hole or make a mount for the plug.

I do not know if you are around salt water....this does say for fresh water....you will just have to search for one for salt water......and I have know idea why fresh water only. A call to minnkota might give you more info.

This is just one example, there are many out there. There may also be better prices on this if you search around on the internet.

Hello Thanks Mike that's more what I'm looking for only all my boating is salt water I'll search for something in line with salt water and your right what's the difference especially if its water proof. Thanks again Greg

http://www.amazon.com/Battery-Tende...lp_15707061_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1370485881&sr=1-2 this is one i use on a houseboat...plug it in and forget it...it will never overcharge...it comes with a set of leads to permanently wire to battery posts or use the furnished alligator clips...quick disconnect plug for each..this one is a little more expensive than the so called trickle chargers at walmart etc but i have had problems with the cheap ones...they either boil a battery in time or just crap out..then i have one that is 15 years old...you just never know with the cheap ones..

make sure you use the anti corrosive stuff on your battery post.....they are selling a spray that is supposed to replace the old stuff that is in a tube...i like the old stuff better if i can find it..

Hello Thank You to everyone!!! Hondadude (Mike) and papyson all good info very important to me!!! as for as anti corrosive stuff I found the stuff in a tube which I think is better than a spray at ACE HARDWARE a great store dielectric grease is what you'all should ask for been using it for ever the BEST!!!
