I have a 1990 4 cyl volvo that wont start after sitting for about a year. I checked everything and figured out there was no spark. It started with a lead from the + on the battery to the + on the coil so now I figure its the ignition system. I checked all the wires and dont see any obvious breaks or wear spots. So now the question is where do I go from here. I dont know much about electrical systems so any help is appreciated.
Thanks

"Many control boxes have a switch that will prevent the engine from starting if the throttle lever is not in neutral. You will have to find if your control has such switch installed; and if it has one, check that the switch is OK (that is , it has continuity when closed but not when open) and the wiring is intact.

Make also sure that you have continuity between the ignition switch and the + side of the ignition coil. The problem could be something as simpre as a loose or corroded wire."
