"I have a 1999 Ficht 115 on my boat that runs fine until I get to idle speeds - when it coughs, splutters and sometimes cuts out completely. It's been in the shop three times now, and they can't find a problem - the computer says everything's running fine. So I take it out and what happens - it coughs and splutters at low rev's again. In general happens after a day fishing as I head back into the harbour. Any ideas 'cos the workshop (and I've tried several) don't seem to have a clue.

"Sounds like the old 'plug fouling' issue. Be sure You use the correct plug and correctly installed for that engine. Then try to find the OMC/BRP product called 'carbon guard' that they used to have, and add it to the fuel."
