"Hello, This is my first post.

My Honda stopped pissing out the coolant water so I thought, huh, about time to replace the impeller, first time in 8 years.
Took the bottom 4 bolts but the lower unit will not budge. I will look for a shifter rod up top to disconnect now.
Any words of experience will be greatly appreciated.
Nice to be here.

Robert"

"5 bolts holding the bottom end on, 4 obvious, 1 underneath the sacrificial anode.
The shifter disconnect was just above the bottom end on the front edge exposed, just back off the nut and turn up the coupler.
Now for the impeller......"

"Done.
The hardest part was finding the 5th bolt. Disconnecting the shift mechanism was easy, back off the lock nut and back off the coupler until it disconnects from the lower shift rod.
Clean, disassemble and reassemble according to the way it came apart, simple right? Ha! Yes.
They did not include one gasket in the kit so be careful pulling it apart.
I am glad the 2 seals were replaced to minimize problems for the bottom end.
Torque carefully, not too much, not too little.
Do not forget to replace the bottom end gear lube and when greasing the prop replace the cotter pin."
